In fact, Advanced Resources has a dedicated division that focuses exclusively on highly specialized non-clinical healthcare roles in case management and medical revenue cycle.
We sat down with one of our star Healthcare Division team players, Giovanna Losacco, to talk about her experience in healthcare staffing. Giovanna is a widely respected, hard-working mom who came to Advanced when we acquired CSI/OTS in 2009. Giovanna has been with us ever since and she continues to bring value to healthcare clients throughout the Chicagoland area. Here are her thoughts on healthcare talent, her career, and the Advanced difference in healthcare staffing:
Giovanna, how long have you been in healthcare staffing? 7.5 years.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy making a difference in people’s lives! I am passionate about understanding our clients’ business models and providing custom staffing solutions that best fit their needs.
What do you see as some of the biggest challenges facing healthcare providers?
Healthcare organizations are constantly trying to restructure to provide more with less, but no matter what your structure is or what your processes are, if you don’t have the right talent on board you can’t achieve your goals. There’s a lot of change in healthcare right now and without the right support, patient satisfaction and reimbursement will be impacted. Also, departmental goals and productivity levels will not be met, which means higher turnover and burned out employees, which also impacts patient care.
How does Advanced Resources help with these challenges?
Our Healthcare Division has strong expertise in the healthcare space. Our recruitment and business development teammates all have deep knowledge and experience and we all understand the talent it takes for healthcare organizations to succeed. What are three things you think clients can do to win the “war for healthcare talent?”
First, develop strategic partnerships now. Don’t wait until you’re severely shorthanded to try and find a reliable partner. Form relationships with exceptional talent providers now so you have the edge in a competitive talent marketplace. Second, gather market intelligence. Find out what your peers are doing. Be active in associations and participate in discussions to learn about best practices in all areas, including talent. When a sector of the staffing industry heats up, many new staffing firms “pop up” to try and capture the upswing. This will continue to happen with healthcare staffing firms.
