Thanksgiving . . . the word evokes images of football, family reunions, roasted turkey with stuffing, pumpkin pie and, of course, the Mayflower, the Pilgrims and the Indians. Thanksgiving initially began as a celebration to give thanks for a successful harvest. The tradition has grown and Thanksgiving has become a beloved American holiday.
I love Thanksgiving. For the most part, it’s a simple holiday. No presents, no costumes, no elaborate decorations. Although there’s lots to do if you’re hosting The Feast and cooking The Bird, Thanksgiving is about family, great food, and giving thanks.
We have much to give thanks for at Advanced Resources. We “celebrate a successful harvest” this year in that we’ve had a year of growth, both in revenue and in all that we’ve learned. Although the economy isn’t spectacular, we’re very thankful that we didn’t experience a “double-dip” recession.
We’re thankful for our vendors, all of the companies who support us. We’re thankful for our new partners, especially eRecruit, the new technology we’re implementing this winter to make us better, faster, and smarter. We’re thankful for the new website we launched this year thanks to StraightNorth. We give thanks to our bank and to our lawyers for watching out for us and providing resources and guidance to help us grow.
Thank you to our Board of Advisors for continuously guiding us and providing leadership and expertise that helps us achieve our vision.
We’re thankful for our sister companies: Advanced Clinical, WunderLand, and our newest addition, TriWorth. We’re four different businesses fueled by the same thing: the desire to be “the best,” to do things differently, and to make a difference.
We give thanks for the awards we’ve won this year: Best of Staffing – Talent, Best of Staffing – Client, and the Chicago Tribune’s “Top 100 Places to Work.” These awards are testaments to our dedication to Experience Excellence and to our vision of being the most respected staffing firm.
Thank you to all of the Advanced employees who work with our clients. We’re so glad you came to our company to find a job. We appreciate how you go into a new organization, onto a new team, and you’re able to pick things up quickly and begin making a difference for our clients. Advanced has the best employees, period.
Thank you to our extended community. We don’t place everyone we interview. We appreciate the people who “like” us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn. There are thousands of you, and we are grateful for your support (and your referrals!).
Thank you to our clients. Some of you have been with us for a very long time, and we are extremely grateful for your loyalty and partnership. Some of you are newer and we are grateful for your trust and for your business. For some of you, we provide complex strategic workforce business solutions; for some, we provide talent. In any instance, a major reason we’re able to attract great talent is because our clients are some of the best companies in the Chicagoland area.
We give LOTS of thanks for our internal staff – our managers and sales people and recruiters and admin staff and back office team. You ARE Advanced Resources. You work hard to make a difference for clients and candidates, to deliver results, to continuously educate yourselves and to grow. We are very lucky to have the best and brightest working in Advanced Resources.
Finally, we’re most thankful for our family and friends for your support, patience, and enthusiasm. Staffing is hardly ever a “9 to 5” job, and being part of a growth-oriented company means lots of hard work and commitment. Love, support, friendship, and care - it makes the world go 'round.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Here’s wishing you a day filled with family, love, great food, and gratitude.
